Biography

Alison Block MD completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology on a Philosophy track at Yale University in 2004. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area following graduation, she attended UCSF medical school and completed her Family Medicine residency at Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency in Northern California in 2014. She has served as faculty and Reproductive Health Director at Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency for eight years before returning to the East Coast to join the faculty at Brown University in 2022. Her professional mission is to improve the full scope of primary care and advance reproductive justice through clinical care, teaching, mentoring, advocacy, and Narrative Medicine. In addition to her work at Brown, she is a writer and Executive Producer for The Nocturnists, a healthcare worker storytelling organization that aims to build resilience and connection among healthcare workers through the art of storytelling.
