Biography

Alison Duncan, MD, is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist at Boston Medical Center, where she serves as Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services. Her recent work focuses on improving parent-adolescent communication for those dealing with ADHD through motivational interviewing and exploring the feasibility of implicit association testing for suicidality in emergency department settings. She is actively supported by various grants, including those from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Duncan was awarded the NIDA-AACAP Resident Training Award for her contributions to the field. Additionally, she participates in community activities, such as singing with Coro Allegro, a classical chorus allied with Boston's LGBTQ+ community.
