My research focuses on improving health outcomes for people with mental illness, addressing the physical health and premature mortality of individuals with serious mental illness, the aging population living with psychosis, and the social determinants of mental health. I also explore the mental health effects of climate change. My clinical focus is in Psychiatry, and I hold a position as an Assistant Professor in the University Medical Line at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. I have completed my residency at UCSF and am a graduate of Harvard Medical School. I am active in the American Psychiatric Association as a member of the Council on Research and have completed the UCSF National Clinician Scholars Program, where I was a Fellow. My academic contributions stem from a strong foundation in health policy and medical sociology acquired during my PhD at Harvard University.
