Biography

Professor Alison Noble CBE FRS FREng FIET currently serves as the Technikos Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford. She is a Professorial Fellow of St Hilda’s College and was the Director of the Oxford Institute of Biomedical Engineering from 2012 to 2016. Her pioneering research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and clinical medicine, with a particular emphasis on machine learning applications in ultrasound and global healthcare. She has also been awarded the BMVA Distinguished Researcher award in 2022 and the Royal Society Gabor Medal in 2019, among others. Professor Noble has held leadership roles in several prestigious national and international organizations, including serving as the President of the MICCAI Society and Vice President of the Royal Society. Known for her commitment to academia and engineering, she balances her research with her role as a trustee for organizations like the Oxford Trust, promoting science and technology education in the Oxfordshire region.
