Biography

Alison Riese MD MPH is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Medical Science at Brown University. She is a general pediatrician at Hasbro Children's Hospital with a focus on adolescent health risk behaviors and medical education. Alison graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in 2000 and spent five years teaching science at an urban middle school before pursuing her medical degree at the University of Massachusetts, which she completed in 2009. She then entered a pediatrics residency at Hasbro Children's Hospital/Brown University Program. Following her residency, Alison completed a two-year research fellowship at the Injury Prevention Center of Rhode Island Hospital and earned her Master of Public Health degree at Brown University. Her research interests encompass adolescent health risk behaviors, youth violence, bullying, substance use, and adolescent contraception and sexual health. Alison has previously taught two graduate courses in Alpert Medical School's Primary Care-Population Medicine dual-degree program and served as an Assistant Clerkship Director for the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship, where she is currently the Clerkship Director for Pediatrics.
