Dr. Alison White

Biography

Alison White has been part of the Faculty of Education since September 2010, contributing to the training and support of future educators with her extensive teaching experience of over 35 years. She is a personal tutor for four trainees, guiding them through their academic and practical training in the classroom. Alison has been actively involved in presenting seminars and supporting trainees with academic research writing, while observing their teaching practice. Her approach is nurturing and supportive, ensuring that all trainees receive the guidance they need throughout their rigorous training year. Alison's previous roles have included acting head teacher and deputy head teacher, emphasizing her leadership in schools. She specializes in Religious Education, has a keen interest in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusive Education, and has developed various curricular initiatives aimed at fostering a strong sense of local community and cultural awareness in her students. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Alison teaches children at Burghley House, providing them with hands-on historical experiences. She is also an educational advisor, working with fostering agencies and previously served in a chief inspector capacity, supporting new heads in Cambridgeshire.
