Biography

Alissa Cheung is a member of Quatuor Bozzini based in Montreal, QC. She has been involved in solo and chamber performances across Canada, the USA, Europe, and Asia. Her work has been featured in various notable media outlets including the New York Guardian in the UK, the Edmonton Journal, and the Edmonton Sun, as well as broadcasted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in the UK, Österreichischen Rundfunks in Austria, Yleisradio in Finland, and the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep in the Netherlands, along with CBC Radio in Canada. As a composer, her works have been performed at the Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur in Montréal by Ensemble Arkea, and at the University of Michigan by Arx Duo, among others. She is a regularly featured composer at the C’mon Festival in Edmonton, with upcoming performances including commissions from Mark Fewer and Ensemble Quatuor Bozzini. In addition to her artistic performances, Ms. Cheung is a part-time faculty member at Concordia University and a sessional instructor at King’s University College, and she also teaches at the Alberta College Conservatory of Music, incorporating educational outreach initiatives such as the Teaching Artist program of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra's Adopt-a-Player Program and the National Arts Centre’s Music Alive Program.
