Biography

Allan Hupman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Dalhousie University. He completed his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics in 2015, followed by a Master's degree in Medical Physics in 2017, and a PhD in Medical Physics in 2021, all from Dalhousie University. He also completed a Medical Physics Residency at the University of Toronto (Sunnybrook Hospital) in 2023. His research interests encompass Radiation Detectors, Organic Electronics including Diodes and Thin-Film Transistors (TFTs), Scintillators, Monte Carlo Simulations, the optimization of detector design for Brachytherapy, and Machine Learning applications within the field. Hupman has presented his research at various conferences including the COMP Annual Meeting, where he received the Honours Prize at the J.R. Cunningham Young Investigators Symposium in 2021. Over the years, he has co-authored several significant publications addressing topics such as radiation treatment planning and innovative dosimetry techniques, contributing to the advancement in the Medical Physics field.
