Biography

Allan Slomovic is a Professor and Vice Chair of Education at the Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto. He is also the Clinical Director of the Cornea Service at the University Health Network. Dr. Slomovic received his MD from Memorial University and an MSc from the University of Montreal. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, specializing in cornea and external diseases. Dr. Slomovic has held several leadership roles, including past President of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and has been a Program Director in Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. He is renowned for his contributions to cornea and external disease treatment and has mentored numerous residents and fellows across the globe. Dr. Slomovic's research focuses on cornea stem cell research and refractive surgery, and he has published extensively in these areas. He has been recognized with awards, including the Mentor of the Year Award from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in 2001. Dr. Slomovic has also been featured in Toronto Life magazine as one of Toronto's top doctors.
