Dr. Allen Wood

Biography

Allen Wood is the Ward W. and Priscilla B. Woods Professor, Emeritus at Stanford University. He is a distinguished scholar in the fields of modern philosophy, particularly known for his work on Kant, German idealism, ethics, and social philosophy. Wood has held regular professorships at Cornell University, Yale University, and Stanford University, and has been a visiting professor at prestigious institutions including the University of Michigan, UC San Diego, and Oxford University. He has published extensively, authoring several significant works such as 'Kant's Moral Religion,' 'Kant's Rational Theology,' and 'Hegel's Ethical Thought.' His latest book, 'Free Development: Studies in Freedom, Right, and Ethics in Classical German Philosophy,' was published by Oxford University Press in 2014.
