Biography

Allison Didychuk was born in northern Manitoba, Canada. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the University of Jamestown in North Dakota in 2012. She completed her Ph.D. in Biophysics under Dr. Samuel Butcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017, where her research focused on the assembly of yeast spliceosome. Didychuk then pursued postdoctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley with Dr. Britt Glaunsinger, where she studied essential steps in herpesvirus replication. Joining the faculty at Yale School of Medicine in 2022 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, her research utilizes diverse approaches including structural biology, molecular virology, single-molecule biophysics, and functional genomics to understand the mechanisms of herpesviruses. Her work contributes significantly to the field of viral biology and continues to advance the understanding of viral replication processes.
