Biography

Allison Korn joined the Duke University School of Law faculty in 2022 as a Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Health Justice Clinic. Her teaching and scholarship focus on law, policy, and practices that impact vulnerable individuals' and communities' access to justice. She is recognized as a national leader in experiential education and plays an active role in developing pedagogical strategies that enhance legal education. Korn co-created and implemented a national webinar series for the Clinical Legal Education Association aimed at promoting a deeper understanding of the legal systems and their relation to justice and social movements. Before joining Duke, she served as the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education at UCLA School of Law, where she directed the Food Law and Policy Clinic. Korn has also been a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she co-taught the Family Law Clinic. As a member of the inaugural class of family defense attorneys with the Bronx Defenders in New York, she represented parents facing abuse and neglect charges. Additionally, she worked as a staff attorney with the National Advocates for Pregnant Women, protecting the rights and dignity of women. Korn earned her J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she co-founded the Student Hurricane Network, a national initiative supporting communities affected by Hurricane Katrina and Rita.
