Dr. Allison Lewinski

Biography

Allison Lewinski is an Associate Research Professor at Duke University School of Nursing and holds a joint appointment at the Durham Veterans Affairs Health Care System. Her research primarily focuses on health services and implementation science, emphasizing diabetes distress, qualitative research methods, and virtual care delivery, including telehealth and digital health. Dr. Lewinski's work aims to examine how virtual care interventions can reduce distress, improve self-management, expand access to evidence-based care, and enhance patient outcomes. She has published several articles exploring the effectiveness of telehealth in managing type 2 diabetes and addressing gender disparities in healthcare access. With a strong background in nursing and health research, Dr. Lewinski contributes substantially to the understanding of chronic disease management and the integration of technology in healthcare.
