Biography

Allison Lombardo served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Organization Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, focusing on human rights and humanitarian affairs during the Biden Administration from 2021 to 2025. Prior to this role, she was a strategy consultant at Deloitte. Ms. Lombardo's public service began at the U.S. Department of State in 2009 as a Presidential Management Fellow in the Office of Special Envoy for Sudan. From 2009 to 2012, she represented the United States in peace talks concerning Sudan and South Sudan. Between 2013 and 2014, she served as Director for African Affairs at the National Security Council. In 2016, she was a Senior Advisor to the USAID Administrator, guiding actions related to humanitarian issues and international development policy across Africa and Latin America. Before her time in public service, Allison worked with the UN as a Special Representative on Business and Human Rights at Human Rights Watch.
