Dr. Allison Ross

Biography

Allison Kinder Ross is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University. With fifteen years of faculty experience at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Ross has primarily focused her research on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anesthetic agents in children, particularly in relation to sedation for mentally challenged children and pediatric regional anesthesia. She has been a principal investigator in several multicenter studies and has received industry funding for her research endeavors. Her work in the field of pediatric regional anesthesia has gained significant recognition, contributing to ongoing trials that have led to numerous abstracts, papers, and lectures. Dr. Ross has collaborated with the psychiatry department at UNC, serving as a coinvestigator on studies funded by the National Institute of Mental Health that explore imaging procedures for sedation in autistic and developmentally delayed children. She continues to be actively engaged in research within this specialty area and remains a key figure in shaping current practices in pediatric anesthesia at Duke.
