Biography

Allison Schaser is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Miami University, a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the same institution, which she completed in 2015. Following her doctorate, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Neurology department at Oregon Health & Science University in 2020. Dr. Schaser's research focuses on the pathophysiology of age-related synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease and Dementia with Lewy Bodies. Her lab, the Schaser Research Group, specializes in using advanced imaging tools and mouse models to study protein aggregation related to these conditions. In addition to her research, Dr. Schaser is dedicated to supporting women in science and serves as the president of Women in Science Portland. She is committed to promoting career development and retention opportunities for women in the sciences.
