Biography

Allison Slater is an Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream at the School of Pharmacy, University of Waterloo, and the Assistant Director of Curriculum. She is also the Director of the Women Pharmacy Leadership Program. She completed her BSc in Pharmacy in 2014 and a PharmD in 2018 through a bridging program at the University of Waterloo. Allison began teaching in the PharmD program in 2016 as a teaching assistant and has since been an integral part of the PharmD program's evolution. She teaches professional practice courses and coordinates the fourth-year Symposium course. In addition to her academic role, Allison is a practicing community pharmacist in Norfolk County, Ontario, where she is actively involved in patient care. Her research interests center on rural community pharmacy practice, interprofessional collaboration, patient communication strategies, specialty compounding, and community outreach for public health promotion.
