Biography

Allison P Squires, Ph.D., FAAN, RN, is a Professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, recognized for her contributions to global health services research and the promotion of a sustainable nursing workforce. Squires' research addresses the impact of language barriers on immigrant health outcomes and nursing practices. She is the Founder and Director of the Global Consortium on Nursing & Midwifery Studies (GCNMS), a collaboration involving 87 countries focused on research capacity building in nursing and midwifery. Her current research examines the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on nursing workforces globally. Prior to her academic career, Squires spent over a decade as a staff nurse and educator in diverse healthcare settings across the U.S. She is committed to mentoring future researchers and is currently accepting Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows. Her professional interests include global health, migration, immigrant health, and workforce research.
