Biography

Alok Kumar received his Ph.D. in Economics from Queen's University, Kingston, Canada in 2003. He specializes in Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, and Development Economics. His research interests encompass monetary issues, economic growth and development, gender bias, human capital investment, and foreign aid. He has also taught courses in Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, Mathematical Economics, and Development Economics. Prior to joining the University of Victoria, he was a member of the Indian Economic Service and worked in the Perspective Planning Division of the Planning Commission, which is now known as NITI Aayog, in New Delhi. His work focuses on various economic policies and their implications on development and growth.
