Dr. Alon Mogilner

Biography

Alon Mogilner specializes in functional neurosurgery with over 20 years of experience. He is deeply committed to enhancing the lives of patients through the use of cutting-edge technology and compassionate care. His background, inspired by his parents—a devoted pediatrician and a social worker—instilled in him a profound dedication to helping others. Mogilner treats serious neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, chronic pain, and psychiatric disorders, utilizing neuromodulation techniques including deep brain stimulation (DBS) and spinal cord stimulation (SCS). He is also proficient in high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), expanding treatment options for patients who may not respond to conventional therapies. At NYU Langone Health, he collaborates with colleagues to provide the latest clinical advances and opportunities for clinical trials aimed at improving patient outcomes. Mogilner began his educational journey in computer science and continued to obtain MD and PhD degrees in neuroscience from NYU Grossman School of Medicine, driven by his fascination with technology and the human brain.
