Biography

Alpaslan Dedeoglu received his MD from Istanbul University School of Medicine and completed a pharmacology program at Marmara University in 1992. He has since worked at several prestigious institutions including the University of Arizona, Ohio State University, and Massachusetts General Hospital, before joining Boston University in 2000. At Boston University, Dedeoglu serves as an Associate Professor in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specifically in the Department of Neurology. His major research interests include neuroanatomy, neuropathology, and neurochemistry, particularly in relation to neurodegenerative disorders. He conducts therapeutic trials using rodent models and leads ongoing projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and various private foundations. Dedeoglu is responsible for mentoring graduate students in the Graduate Medical Sciences program at Boston University, where he also contributes to the academic community through his work on grant data and research sponsorship related to Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.
