Dr. Alpha Abebe

Biography

Alpha Abebe is an Associate Professor at McMaster University in the Faculty of Humanities. He has a PhD in International Development from the University of Oxford. His academic work primarily focuses on refugee and forced migration studies. He has also completed a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration on Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from York University, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto. As part of his academic training, he obtained a Graduate Diploma in Refugee Forced Migration Studies from York University. Through his varied educational background and professional experiences, Dr. Abebe engages deeply with issues surrounding communication, media, and the impact of migration on communities. His research interests lie at the intersection of communication studies and the socio-political dynamics of migration.
