Biography

Álvaro Calzadilla joined UCL ISR as Associate Professor in Macro-economic Modelling of the Green Economy in July 2015. His primary focus is on applied general equilibrium analysis, particularly concerning agricultural policies, natural resources management, renewable energy, climate change, decarbonisation, and the circular economy. Prior to joining UCL ISR, Álvaro worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany and as a research fellow at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy. He also held a researcher position at Ciess-Econométrica at Universidad Católica Boliviana in Bolivia. Álvaro holds a PhD in Economics from Hamburg University, where he was part of the International Max Planck Research School for Earth System Modelling, and he obtained an MSc in Economics from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Bolivia.
