Biography

Dr. Alyce Sophia Adams is the inaugural Stanford Medicine Innovation Professor and a Professor at Stanford University in the fields of Health Policy and Epidemiology Population Health, also serving as a Professor by courtesy in Pediatrics (Endocrinology). Currently, she holds several leadership positions including Associate Chair for Health Equity and Community Engagement in Stanford Health Policy and Associate Director of both the Stanford Cancer Institute and Stanford Impact Labs. Dr. Adams focuses her interdisciplinary research on the racial and socioeconomic disparities affecting chronic disease treatment outcomes. Prior to her tenure at Stanford, she served as Associate Director for Health Care Delivery Policy Research at Kaiser Permanente and held the role of Professor at the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine. With a PhD in Health Policy and a background in Social Policy from Harvard University, Dr. Adams is recognized for her contributions to academic medicine and has received accolades such as the John M. Eisenberg Excellence in Mentoring Award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
