Alyson Miller graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BSc (First Class Honours) in Immunology Pharmacology and a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh. After a short post-doctoral position at University College London, she moved to Australia for further post-doctoral training, initially at the University of Melbourne and then at Monash University. In 2007, she was awarded the Foundation High Blood Pressure Research Fellowship, followed by the National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Australia Career Development Fellowship from 2009 to 2013. In 2013, Alyson received the Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship at RMIT University, where she established an independent research program. In early 2017, she returned to Scotland to take a Senior Lecturer position in the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health at the University of Glasgow. Her research has consistently received funding from competitive research grants, largely from the NHMRC, and she has received several prestigious awards recognizing her contributions to the field as a young scientist.
