Biography

Alyssa F. Peterkin, MD is an assistant professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in General Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She earned her MD from New York Medical College and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA. She currently serves as Program Director for the Grayken Addiction Medicine Fellowship and Co-Director of the Addiction Health Track LEADS course. Dr. Peterkin is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical practice and education, with a strong commitment to mentoring future healthcare professionals and addressing healthcare disparities. She has participated in various training programs aimed at increasing the representation of racial and ethnic minorities in addiction medicine. Her professional contributions include research and presentations addressing systemic barriers in addiction care.
