Biography

Dr. Alyssa Van Dreumel completed her postgraduate studies through the School of Medicine at Deakin University, in partnership with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and the Australian Animal Health Facility. Her research focuses on the development of reagents for use in immunological diagnostic assays for endemic and exotic pathogens. Currently, she serves as the International Program Coordinator at WESTA College, School of Molecular Sciences, University of Western Australia, overseeing the teaching and delivery of UWA Biotechnology Major units in partnership with Southwest University in China. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes learner-centred education and the importance of active student participation. Dr. Van Dreumel is committed to improving teaching and learning in higher education and aims to convey her passion for biological sciences to inspire future scientists and researchers. She has expertise related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and focuses on utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance the educational experience of her students.
