Amanda Kleisinger grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan. She received her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology Health Studies with High Honors from the University of Regina in 2008. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered in a recreation program for veterans at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, which sparked her interest in rehabilitation, persons with disabilities, and recreation therapy. Amanda graduated from the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 2012. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2017. Additionally, she obtained an EMG Diplomate designation from the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN). Currently, Amanda is the Regina site lead for the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) program, managing various aspects of the PM&R curriculum and student electives. Her clinical interests include Dance Medicine, Sports Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Electrodiagnostics, Musculoskeletal Medicine, and Pediatric Rehabilitation. Amanda is dedicated to improving patient care and advancing her field through technology and intervention strategies.
