Biography

Amanda Tzenov joined the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland as an Assistant Professor in 2017. She provides general family practice care at the Ross Family Medicine Clinic and specializes in care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Tzenov completed her Master of Science in Medicine in 2008, an MD in 2012, and her Family Medicine residency training in 2014 at Memorial University. She has played a significant role in the Family Medicine Residency Training Program, serving as the Assistant Program Director and Admissions Chair. Currently, she also holds the position of Assistant Dean for Admissions in the Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Tzenov is deeply involved in teaching Family Medicine residents and values her role as an educator for both undergraduate and postgraduate learners. In addition to her professional roles, she is actively engaged in volunteer activities and represents the College of Family Physicians of Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador (CFPC NL) on the Family Medicine Forum Committee, as well as serving on the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care (CTFPHC). In her free time, Dr. Tzenov enjoys outdoor activities and can often be found running on the roads and trails of St. John's, regardless of the weather.
