Biography

Dr. Amar Thakrar holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology from the University of New Brunswick and completed his Medical Degree and Internal Medicine training at the University of Saskatchewan. He completed a Cardiology fellowship at Queen's University and pursued a clinical fellowship in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology at the University of Toronto. Since July 2012, he has been working as a staff cardiologist. His clinical interests include multimodality imaging and stress testing, with published contributions in the areas of blood pressure monitoring and primary cardiac tumors. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Thakrar has a keen interest in medical education.
