Dr. Ameya Rege

Biography

Ameya Rege is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanics of Solids, Surfaces & Systems at the University of Twente. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mumbai, India, before earning a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California, USA. He obtained his Doctorate in Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and worked as a post-doctoral associate at the Institute of Materials Research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne, where he established the research group focused on Atomistic Microstructure Simulations of Aerogels. Ameya's research interests include Material Science, Aerogels, Silicon Dioxide, Cellular Material, and Computational Materials Science. He has held positions as a visiting scholar and senior lecturer at Cardiff University and Keele University, respectively, and has been appointed adjunct professor at the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee, India. He is active in research and teaching within applied mechanics and data analysis.
