Dr. Ami Rubinowitz

Biography

Ami N. Rubinowitz, M.D. is a Professor of Radiology at Yale School of Medicine and a member of the Thoracic Imaging Section at Yale New Haven Hospital. He previously served as section chief and has received academic honors including Alpha Omega Alpha from New York Medical College. Dr. Rubinowitz completed his internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, residency in diagnostic radiology, and fellowship in thoracic imaging at NYU Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident and chief fellow. Since completing his training, he has been part of the diagnostic radiology department at NYU and has worked at Yale since 2005. His research interests include collaborations with pulmonologists and thoracic oncologists, focusing on multiple clinical trials in lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, COPD, and lung cancer. Dr. Rubinowitz has published in peer-reviewed journals and is recognized for his teaching, having received awards for outstanding radiology teaching. He is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents, and regularly gives invited lectures at national and international conferences. His notable roles include positions on various committees in professional organizations such as the American Roentgen Ray Society, where he leads projects related to thoracic imaging and lung diseases. Dr. Rubinowitz takes pride in aiding patients through detailed imaging studies which assists in early disease detection, ultimately contributing to better patient outcomes.
