Biography

Amin Etminan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in thermo-fluids energy systems, from Persian Gulf University, Iran, in 2004. He began his graduate studies in the Energy Conversion program at Yazy University, Iran, completing his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2007. Following 11 years as an instructor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Azad University, Iran, he pursued a Ph.D. at MUN, focusing on hydrodynamics and heat transfer phenomena in gas-liquid and liquid-liquid two-phase flows, which he completed in 2022. He has served as a postdoctoral fellow at MUN, studying heat transfer in Taylor flow and developing innovative thermal management systems for electronic devices. In September 2023, he transitioned to his current role, where he teaches and supervises projects concerning energy systems and CO2 capturing. He is also an Engineer-in-Training registered in Newfoundland and Labrador and is actively involved in various engineering societies and journal reviews.
