Biography

Amin Karbasi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, and Data Science at Yale University. He completed his Ph.D. in 2012 and holds an M.Sc. in Computer Communication Sciences from EPFL, Switzerland, obtained in 2007, as well as a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering acquired in 2004. His research interests are focused on advanced topics in data science, including machine learning and its applications in connectomics and neuroimaging. He has been recognized with various awards, including the NSF CAREER Award and the Amazon Research Award, and he has contributed significantly to the field through distinguished publications. He has also been involved in mentoring and supporting students, winning several awards for their outstanding achievements in STEM diversity initiatives.
