Biography

Dr. Amin Rizkalla earned his PhD in Biomaterials Engineering from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, in 1987, after completing his M.Eng in Metallurgical Engineering at McGill University, Quebec, in 1977 and obtaining a BSc in Materials Engineering from the American University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1974. Before pursuing an academic career, he worked in the industrial sector, advancing through various engineering positions such as Research Engineer and Senior Process Development Engineer at Superheater Ltd. in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, from 1977 to 1983. His research interests include the wet chemical synthesis and physical, mechanical, and biological characterization of glasses, ceramics, and nanocomposite hybrid biomaterials, particularly focused on dental and orthopedic applications. Moreover, he is involved in exploring 3D printing technologies for Cobalt-Chromium Titanium alloys and polymers used in dental and maxillofacial applications.
