Amina Shabani joined Princeton University in 2021. She holds a PhD in Hispanic Literatures with a double minor in African Studies and Portuguese from Indiana University-Bloomington. Prior to her appointment at Princeton, Shabani taught at Boston University, Butler University, and Indiana University-Bloomington, covering a wide range of courses in language, literature, and culture in Spanish and French. Her teaching and research interests include Afro-Latin American literatures by women, as well as African and Caribbean Lusophone literatures. Additionally, Shabani serves as a faculty adviser for Rocky and is part of the Associated Faculty at the Brazil Lab.
