Dr. Amir Akbari

Biography

Dr. Amir Akbari is an Associate Professor at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, focusing on Finance and Business Economics. He obtained his Ph.D. in Finance from McGill University, where he developed a strong foundation in financial theory and its practical applications. His primary research interests include Empirical Asset Pricing, International Finance, Institutional Investing, and Financial Econometrics. Dr. Akbari's work has been published in several leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His contributions to the field have been recognized widely, contributing to further advancements in financial research and education. Through his role as Area Chair, he collaborates with faculty and students to enhance the academic environment within the Finance & Business Economics area.
