Professor Dr. Amir Aliabadi

Biography

Amir Aliabadi is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph. He specializes in environmental thermo-fluid dynamics, focusing on the relationship between air quality and thermal comfort across various environments, including urban, agricultural, and remote settings. His work encompasses several areas, including environmental economics and finance, energy systems, and renewable energy technologies. Aliabadi has a keen interest in understanding the dynamics of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigerating (HVAC&R) systems, as well as turbulence and numerical weather prediction. He employs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental techniques to analyze and improve environmental performance in engineering applications. His dedication to education is reflected in his role as an instructor, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering mechanics and environmental fluid mechanics among other subjects. Aliabadi's research is essential for developing sustainable engineering solutions that address climate change and enhance environmental quality.
