Dr. Amir Amel Zadeh

Biography

Amir's research examines the effects of companies’ financial and non-financial information disclosures on capital markets and the mediating role of accounting standards and information intermediaries. His research has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Accounting Review, and Financial Analyst Journal. Amir has been cited in the business press and various policy documents by institutions such as the European Union and the International Monetary Fund. He has been invited to present his research at conferences around the globe and has held visiting positions at Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School. Before joining the Saïd Business School, he was at the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, where he taught financial services professionals. Among his roles, Amir serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the European Accounting Review and is a board member of the UK Endorsement Board, influencing international accounting standards. His research interests include the determinants of information disclosure, the interactions within banking, and the application of natural language processing in analyzing financial information. Amir regularly engages with the financial services community through teaching and consulting activities across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
