Biography

Amir H. Chinaei obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in 2007. He has also earned his MSc and BSc degrees in Software Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology—Tehran Polytechnic—and Isfahan University in Iran, respectively. With 20 years of experience in the software industry and academia, Amir has coached over 100 students in developing fully-fledged information systems. He was recognized for his Teaching Excellence in Computer Science at the University of Toronto and began teaching at York University in 2017. His research interests encompass diverse areas including Computer Science Education, Access Control Models, Adjustable Decentralization, Information Visualization, and Projects related to Curriculum Development. Amir is also involved in initiatives such as Software Development Program Work-Integrated Learning and the Graduation Map and Deferred Standing Agreement. Through his teaching and research, he aims to enhance the learning experience in computer science and software engineering.
