Biography

Amir Mofidi is an Associate Professor and Interim Chair at the Department of Engineering, Brock University. He previously served as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Structural Engineering at the School of Engineering, Newcastle University, from 2019 to 2022, and as an Assistant Professor (LTA) at the Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering Department at Concordia University during 2018-2019. From 2012 to 2018, he was a Fulltime Research Associate and part-time Course Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics, McGill University. Dr. Mofidi holds an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Iran’s University of Science and Technology and postgraduate degrees from Concordia University and the University of Quebec. He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, Canada, and has published more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts with an h-index of 13 and over 1,000 citations. His research interests include sustainable construction, focusing on extending the lifespan of existing structures, utilizing durable advanced materials, and developing bio-based structural elements.
