Biography

Amir H. Razavi holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing from the University of Ottawa, completed in February 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Stan Matwin. Prior to this, he earned a Master’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from Tehran University, focusing on search engine design optimization. With a rich background in cybersecurity, machine learning, and data mining, Dr. Razavi has engaged in numerous projects, providing innovative solutions to complex challenges in these domains. He has 8 years of experience as a Senior Data Scientist, leading teams in machine learning-based Big Data analytics, particularly in user profiling, behavioral analysis, and cyber threat intelligence. His professional journey includes roles at well-known organizations such as Bell Canada and BlackBerry, as well as project management in enterprise projects related to Customer Care and Fraud Management. Currently, he is a part-time faculty member at the University of Ottawa, teaching courses that bridge cybersecurity and machine learning.
