Biography

Amit Banerjee joined the faculty of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor at Penn State Harrisburg in 2008 and became an Associate Professor in 2014. He has served as Associate Program Chair since 2016 and is the Coordinator for the Minors in Mechatronics and Mechatronics Technology. His teaching portfolio includes courses in Mechanics, Machine Design, and Robotics. His research interests encompass Nonlinear Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Automation, Manufacturing, Engineering Design, and Cognitive Creativity in Design. Banerjee is also actively involved in professional associations, including the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
