Biography

Amit Bhasin’s research focuses on infrastructure materials with an emphasis on asphalt materials for pavement infrastructure. His research activities are at the intersection of materials science and mechanics, aimed at developing sustainable materials design tools and construction preservation techniques for pavements. Bhasin received his B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology and both his M.S. and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and has been recognized with the American Road Transportation Builders Association-Council University Transportation Centers Award for Outstanding Contributions in Research. Additionally, he has received the Walter L. Huber civil engineering research prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers. As an educator, he has been honored with the President’s Associates Teaching Excellence Award from UT Austin and the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Texas System, showcasing his commitment to excellence in teaching and research.
