Biography

Amit Bhasin’s research focuses on infrastructure materials with an emphasis on asphalt materials and pavement infrastructure. His research activities lie at the intersection of materials science and mechanics, particularly focusing on sustainable materials design tools for construction and preservation of pavements. Bhasin received his B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the American Road Transportation Builders Association-Council University Transportation Centers Award for his outstanding contributions to research recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Walter L. Huber civil engineering research prize. As an educator, he has been honored with the President’s Associates Teaching Excellence Award and the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Texas System.
