Biography

Ammar Sarhan is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Dalhousie University. He is generally interested in the development of statistical methods motivated by applications to real scientific problems. His research covers numerous areas including computational statistics and statistical inference using both Bayesian and non-Bayesian methods. He has a focus on the presence of different kinds of data, competing risks models, and reliability survival analysis, with a particular interest in univariate and multivariate distributions, both discrete and continuous. Currently, he is exploring the application of competing risks models in the context of masked data, particularly in the fields of life science and industrial engineering, including applications in accelerated life testing. Through his work, Ammar aims to bridge the gap between theoretical statistics and practical applications.
