Amy Vatne Bintliff is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Education Department at the University of California, San Diego. She teaches courses related to Partners Learning (PAL), which prepare undergraduate students for service-learning in schools and nonprofit organizations within underserved communities. She developed the innovative after-school arts-based intervention known as “The Well-being Club” aimed at adolescent girls facing family stressors, collaborating with undergraduate mentors and school partners. Dr. Bintliff also researches and facilitates restorative justice practices in university and K-12 settings, critically examining these practices through the lens of anti-oppressive theory and trauma-informed care. Outside of teaching and research, she enjoys swimming, reading mystery novels, and caring for her rescued pets.
