Dr. Amy Cain

Biography

Amy K. Cain is an Associate Professor and ARC Future Fellow at Macquarie University, Sydney, specializing in Molecular Biology. She has extensive experience in academic groups, hospital laboratories, and the pharmaceutical industry across Australia, the UK, and the USA. Dr. Cain's current research focuses on developing new-to-nature antibiotics and uncovering bacterial stress response systems that impact hospital pathogens using functional genomic techniques. She is the founder and Director of the Galleria Research Facility, which focuses on ethical and cost-effective in vivo model testing of pathogenic microbes, as well as the toxicity and efficacy of new drugs.
