Biography

Amy Carrad is a Research Officer at the Australian Research Centre for Health Equity and a Senior Project Officer at the Planetary Health Equity Hothouse, School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet), Australian National University (ANU). She earned her Bachelor of Public Health with first-class Honours and completed her PhD in 2019, focusing on Developing Health Promoting Sports Clubs Organizational Change at the University of Wollongong. Prior to her role at RegNet, she worked as a Project Manager and Primary Research Assistant, exploring the role of Australian local governments and civil society organizations in food system governance. Amy has led systematic literature reviews on nutrition labeling policy for the World Health Organization’s Nutrition Guidance Expert Advisory Group. She is passionate about food systems, environmental sustainability, and grassroots action, actively involving herself with civil society organizations. Amy serves on the board of SEE Change, is a member of the Agroecology Food Sovereignty Alliance, and has contributed to updates for the Peoples’ Food Plan. Additionally, she is involved in the ACT Government's Canberra Region Local Food Strategy Community Reference Group and is the secretary for Young Farmers Connect for 2023-2024.
