Dr. Amy Carroll

Biography

Amy Sara Carroll is an Associate Professor of Literature and Literary Arts at the University of California, San Diego, where she is also an affiliate faculty member in Latin American Studies, Critical Gender Studies, Chicanx Latinx Studies, Global South Studies, and Film Studies. Carroll's work explores the intersections of art, literature, and cultural politics, often focusing on issues relating to borders, migration, and the experience of transnational identity. She has published several significant works, including 'SECESSION' and 'REMEX: Art History NAFTA Era', which have garnered numerous accolades, such as the 2012 Poets Loud Prize and the 2017 MLA Katherine Singer Kovacs Prize. Carroll has a strong presence in the arts community, contributing to various exhibitions and performances, notably related to the Electronic Disturbance Theater.
